Canyon of Quietude

Morgan Horse Stud Stallion Canyon of Quietude

This handsome, correct, beautiful moving, and sensible even-tempered stallion brings to today the legacy of J. C. Brunk and his breeding program. With six close crosses to Jubilee King, the traits from Jubilee King are strongly fixed and passed on for the future. Canyon of Quietude also carries on the breeding wisdom of Frances Bryant and Eve Oakley who continued on in Brunk’s footsteps by continuing to meld the two families of the Daniel Lamberts and the Old Vermont Morgans. Brunk started with Daniel Lambert sires and bred them to selected Old Vermont High Percent mares. He then bred the original results carefully to one another and back to the original stock. Mrs. Bryant carried on this procedure with Jubilee King and his daughter Paragraph, and using some of the best of the Old Vermont stock of her time. Eve Oakley got her foundation horses from Mrs. Bryant and continued on with this proven breeding.

Montezsierradon

RETIRED

Morgan horse stallion at stud, Montezierradon

This aged stallion is one that breeders should not ignore as he brings down such valuable blood to today; blood that is rare and hard to come by. He brings two close crosses to the good Easter Vermont blood, being the product of a grandson being bred to a daughter of that horse. This is the classic inbreeding that works. Easter Vermont was by the great Red Vermont by Jubilee King. What part of this pedigree that is not Brunk is Western Working Family, most of that going back to Richard Sellman’s breeding, and one line back to old Montana breeding including the Baroque stallion Chief Buglar who had so much old Daniel Lambert behind him. This is proven breeding that produces correct, Baroque style, handsome, good minded, good moving Morgans made in the mode of the ancient ones.  MORE>>Montezsierradon’s Pedigree.

Montezsierradon is 26 years old and so retired.

Higuera Bandido

Retired

Higuera_Bandido and Wendy LeGate

Coming from a proven working heritage, Bandido was chosen by rancher Sid Spencer to head her breeding program and Lucia prefix in the 1970’s. Bandido’s sire was mostly Brunk bred with some Western Working Family coming from the L. U. Sheep Co. of Wyoming. Bandido’s dam repeated this theme and added to the bottom mare line the old California branch of the WWF (Western Working Family).
Bandido’s sire line goes back quickly to Senator Graham, the well known sire of many good working and using horses. His heritage was that of J. C. Brunk—all superior working horses. Also behind Bandido can be found Jubilee King and his sister Sentola and other good Brunk bred Lamberts. Another branch of the Brunk family, that coming from the Old Midwest lines of Go Hawk, is to be found as Flyhawk is also multiple times in Bandido’s pedigree.

OGO WindSwept Soleil

Standing At Stud for Lennie Randall at Questor Morgans.

Soleil - May 2006

OGO WindSwept Soleil is a promising young stallion showing the good traits of his parents and ancestors. He is even tempered, sensible, calm, easy to get along with, correct, handsome and has good movement. His heritage is one of working and using horses, mostly bred for ranch use by people who needed good working horses and who knew what made that in a horse. His pedigree has much of the old California blood, going back to Richard Sellman’s breeding. He also has some of the good old Brunk breeding, especially that of Red Vermont. To add to the mix, he has some good lines back to Old Vermont and Old Midwest families. The same breeding repeats in his pedigree on both sides, giving balance and strength to his heritage. He brings to today, the valuable traits treasured by horseman of the past.

OGO Higuera
Rio Bravo

Rio Bravo

A handsome and correct young fellow with an excellent pedigree of Western Working Family and Brunk. His sire’s heritage is that of all working Morgans, both through the Brunk lines and the WWF portion. Bravo’s dam is pure WWF, coming from many generations of working ranch horses mostly from California, but also from other areas. Her pedigree complements that of Bravo’s sire’s having much of the same old Brunk and WWF breeding back behind the first generations. On both sides of Bravo’s pedigree, the old horses are very close up, bringing to today the rich heritage of these true Morgans of the past. It would be difficult to find a pedigree richer then this one and one which is suitable for the preservationist breeder or the sports breeder or anyone who wishes to breed Morgans in the tradition of the true versatile Morgans.
